Jo Charrington

Jo started her career as a marketing assistant at London Records in 1992.   From there she moved to Virgin records followed by BMG before leaving to manage boy band Another Level.  In 2001 Jo joined Sony music alongside Nick Raphael in A&R.  Jo credits Nick Raphael for teaching her everything she knows about A&R.   They have continued to work as a partnership ever since.
Over a ten year period at Sony/Epic Jo signed and made records for a diverse group of artists including Big Brovaz, Charlotte Church, The 411, Lemar, Milo, The Priests,  Scouting for Girls, JLS, Aloe Blac, Olly Murrs and Paloma Faith.
In 2011 Jo left Sony to join Universal, initially as London Records and then becoming Capitol a year later. Jo is currently the Senior Vice President of A&R at Capitol UK and is enjoying global success with Sam Smith and 5SOS.  She has recently been nominated for the prestigious Women in Music award and is part of mentoring schemes  set up by ELAM, Marie Claire magazine to inspire and educate the future generation of the music industry.
