Hashtag House

ArtForm: City Showcase Markets

Hashtag House is a design company that aims to challenge traditional print processes in design for the home, offering a unique alternative that utilises a laser cutter to burn into a material to produce the imagery. This technique provides a beautifully unique outcome every time as no two pieces of wood or paper have the same grain/structure and therefore react differently to the laser.

Designer Laura Hudson founded Hashtag House in 2014 after she graduated from The University of Huddersfield with a First Class degree in Graphic Design. She spent the first year laying the company’s foundations – designing a collection of work, fine tuning the technique and building an online selling platform which launched in September 2015.
Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, including a feature in Computer Arts Magazine, becoming a partner with national brand Not On The High Street and exhibiting in The Craft and Design Centre, Leeds and The Gallery at Munro House, Leeds.

2016 looks equally exciting with a feature in July’s edition of Tatler magazine and exhibiting at Makers Fairs across the country; including Saltaire Arts Trail, Embankment Summer Market in Westminster and Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Fair in Hampton Court!
