An A&R Man and freelance record producer (Decca Records, Charisma Records, Genesis, Camel, Caravan, Curved Air, Marillion) from the late 60s to the early 80s, David retrained as a Chartered Accountant in order to be come the kind of accountant he wished he had had i.e. someone who understood how the music business worked and what help and advice musicians required so that they could concentrate on making music.

David trained with KPMG and then moved to Ernst & Young’s London offices as a manager in their Entertainment Group where his clients included Duran Duran, k.d. lang, Motown Records and Island Records.

In 1992 he left Ernst & Young to look after the financial affairs of the Monty Python team and their various companies and to found DBM Ltd.  In 1994 he decided to work exclusively on DBM Ltd. The company now has over 140 clients, predominantly bands, writers, producers, recording studios, small labels, managers and music industry executives but also graphic designers, TV agents and marketing companies.

The company deals with all aspects of business management and accountancy from day to day management, book-keeping, VAT and payroll, preparation of statutory accounts and company tax returns and personal tax affairs and planning.
