ArtForm: City Showcase Markets

The Arganic journey started when Dana Elemara decided to make a meaningful impact on the world, which is why she left a well paid career at investment bank Goldman Sachs to engage in something she could truly put her heart into.

Since we launched at the eclectic Maltby Street Market London in 2012 we have grown in an organic way, focusing foremost to be the best at what we do, not necessarily the biggest. We pride ourselves on our close relationships with both our clients and suppliers who value our ethos and principles.

“We love your argan oil”   Ottolenghi

From our London base, we work directly with our partners Sidi Yassine in a beautiful village in the south west of Morocco to produce fully traceable, organic argan oil. Our level of attention to detail and provenance has led to us winning several accolades. The production of our oil provides jobs for over 600 Berber women who get paid fairly for their craft. By benefiting the local people we also help to look after and preserve the UNESCO protected argania spinosa tree, a species exclusive to Morocco which has been around since the dinosaurs roamed the planet.

Through our wholesale as well as retail channels you might find our cosmetic oil in some of your favourite anti-ageing and hair care products. The Telegraph credited us with bringing argan oil to the tables of UK kitchens and we also supply Arganic to some of the best chefs in the world.

About Argan Oil

The Berber people, who live in the south-west of Morocco, have produced and treasured argan oil for centuries. The ancient argania spinosa tree grows exclusively in this region.

The oil comes from cold-pressing the seed of the argan fruit. The process of collection and extraction involves several stages and skilled hand work. It takes 15 hours and 30kg of fruit to produce just one litre.

Argan oil boasts many unique health and medicinal properties which has led to it’s recent recognition in the Western World. This includes the exceptionally high Vitamin E level, which makes it a very powerful antioxidant.

Used externally, it is cell rebuilding and therefore fantastic on the skin and hair. Internally, it has been proven amongst other things to aid digestion, lower bad cholesterol and control blood sugar levels.

We are partnered with farmers Sidi Yassine in Morocco, and together we ensure that every stage of production is monitored carefully. We are even able to trace your bottle back to the tree it came from.

We set out to be the best not the biggest and not only are we proud to be supplying a product that benefits our customers’ health but the livelihood of others and the preservation of a UNESCO protected tree.

We help provide jobs for over 600 berber women, whose expertise in producing argan oil is unrivalled. We ensure they are paid fairly and directly for their time. Most of these women were deprived of a formal education, and so we are involved in projects which aim to give their children proper schooling.
