CITY SHOWCASE- NEW ZEALAND TICKETS NOW ON SALE

Tickets are now on sale to City Showcase, New Zealand’s biggest festival of new musical talent.

City Showcase, which takes place in Napier on 25-28 November, will feature more than 40 bands in total, from New Zealand and Australia, creating a vibrant musical village atmosphere in Hawke’s Bay’s Art Deco seaside city.

Tickets, in the form of wristbands, will allow entry to all gigs throughout the weekend incorporating both evening and daytime venues with headline guest acts including Autozamm, I am Giant, Lisa Crawley, Supermodel, Coast, Josh Leys, Soljah, The Comedowns.

Wristbands will also provide access to music workshops with industry leaders including Mike Chunn and Campbell Smith. Entry numbers for events, will be limited according to space available.

Wristbands, costing $30 are on sale from TicketDirect www.ticketdirect.co.nz, from the City Showcase website – www.cityshowcase.co.uk, from the gig venues and from the City Showcase hub, at Kazba in Hastings Street, during the event.

More than 30 bands have been informed of their success in gaining selection to play City Showcase and audiences will be able to text vote for their favourite band to play in the Finding the Future Finale at the outdoor venue, the Sound Shell on Sunday 28th November.

The winner of City Showcase: Finding the Future will score a trip to perform at City Showcase 2011 in London.

More than 400 entries were submitted from bands and singer/songwriters to play at the event, pitched to replicate the success of City Showcase: London which has been finding and showcasing new musical talent since 2003.

The final list of bands selected to play City Showcase - New Zealand includes:

Abby Pye, Afternoon Raj, Annah Mac, Artisan Guns, Bonfire Nights, Cairo Knife Fight, Chanelle Davis, Christy Ellen, Devils Elbow, Dreadeye, Ed Muzik and the Burning Sensations, Eden James, Esther Melody Band, Ghost, Hannah Curwood, Holly Christina, Horusset, Inverse Order, JR, Jess Atkin, Kelly Rose, Kristin MacDonald, Kotadama, Margot Wuts, Mayan Fox, Medollic, Mile High, Phil Edwards Band, Popstrangers, Ross Arundale of Night Artery, Rosy Tin Teacaddy, Sarah Aitchison, Supermodel, Talita Summer, Tara Simmons, The Bayonets, These Four Walls, Valve, Violet.

Bands will be performing in retail venues during the day and in mainstream gig venues including The Cabana, the Sideline Bar, The Cathedral and Kazba in the evening.

Manager of 3 Sixty Julie Smith in Emerson Street, Napier said the uber cool fashion store was looking forward to welcoming a new and exciting new concept to the CBD.

“At last we have a cool event for people in our market,” Miss Smith said.

Wristbands will give entry into all gigs and workshops, including evening venues, throughout the weekend and will also entitle the wearer to promotions and discounts in the daytime venues whilst the artists are performing.
