Having graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2007 with a BA in Fashion Design, Thomas Empson continues to create unique garments for the young, innovative & stylish. Specialising in men’s wear, his garments have an element of eccentricity which he cleverly combines with a real sense of modern street wear.

Since graduating Thomas has gone on to showcase his work at shows such as FUZE: an annual, high fashion show based in Bristol, alongside designers such as Diesel, Calvin Klein and Agent Provocateur. He also works as a designer/pattern cutter for labels such as Ruby London and Jas M.B., as well as growing his own label.

When interviewed by Annoushka Giltsoff for FIX magazine he was asked – What is your collection about? To which he replied – ‘My latest collection is about thinking for the future, it intends to promote the need for an evolution in our mind-set. It’s about reclaiming our individuality from mass consumerism and corporate branding that dominates modern culture’.

His latest men’s wear collection is intended to progress denim-wear as we know it. Using innovative shapes that have stemmed from his research of ‘evolution, philosophy and religion, these shapes are a visual representation of @tomology, my philosophical take on life; my ‘ology. The silhouette of my clothing is intended to portray a sense of enlightenment. It hopes to capture the onlookers’ attention for just a moment and for them to think “oh yeah, it doesn’t have to be like this, we can do things another way”. This collection is made from reclaimed denim and a range of organic, recycled and vintage materials.
