Presti Guitar Duo

ArtForm: CityShowcase Act/Composer

The Presti Guitar Duo was formed by Florence Nisbet and Amie Owen in 2008, whilst studying together at the Royal College of Music. They take their name from the gifted French guitarist Ida Presti, rival to virtuoso Segovia and one of the first female classical guitarists to achieve global renown.

The Duo has performed widely in London and around the UK, including performances at The National Gallery, The Cabinet War Rooms, Cheltenham Town Hall Lawrence Hall and Boodles Club. As soloists they have performed at the Wigmore Hall and at Kings Place. They featured at the first ever York Guitar Festival in August 2009, of which they are co-founders. They also have a keen interest in outreach work, performing in a number of hospitals and community centres. Their repertoire is varied, but they particularly enjoy playing the work of contemporary composers.  Future appearances include performances in Hastings and at the 2010 York Guitar Festival where they will also be taking workshops.
